Barclays Premier League Week 10 Day 2 Roundup

Sunderland 3-0 Newcastle
In an early kickoff, Sunderland hosted Newcastle in the Tyne-Wear derby. After Newcastle’s early domination , they were reduced to 10-men after Coloccini brought down Fletcher inside the box and the resulting penalty was dispatched by Adam Johnson before second half goals from Billy Jones and Steven Fletcher ensured Sunderland’s first win of the season , first under new boss Sam Allardyce and 6th consecutive derby win.

Manchester United 0-0 Manchester City

The headline encounter ended in a dull and drab 0-0 draw as both teams looked content with a point .  The only noteworthy moments included Martial’s over the top pass which found Jesse Lingard whose effort came off the bar and Smalling’s attempt saved by Hart at the near post.
AFC Bournemouth 1-5 Tottenham
In an entertaining encounter at the Vitality stadium, Matt Ritchie gave the hosts a dream start by scoring inside the 1st minute but the celebration was cut short as Harry Kane restored parity from the penalty spot after being brought down by Artur Boruc before the ball fell kindly for Mousa Dembele from a free kick as he made it 2-1. Then Harry Kane set up Lamela before getting on the end of an Eriksen cross for 4-1 and then tapping in for his first hattrick of the season in a game where Goalie Boruc’s errors proved costly.
Liverpool 1-1 Southampton
In Klopp’s first game at the Kop , Liverpool looked to have secured all three points as substitute Christian Benteke headed home from Milner’s cross in the 77th minute but Klopp’s joy was shortlived as 9 minutes later Gaston Ramirez’s header found Mane who obliged and made it 1-1. Klopp is still looking for his first win as the start of his tenure has seen 3 draws from 3 games.
