News : Two key players Mourinho is willing to let go this summer

Written By: Bhavdeep Singh

Jose Mourinho was shown around the Manchester United training facility in Carrington yesterday and seems to have made peace with club legend, Sir Bobby Charlton, with his eyes now set on the crucial summer transfer window, he seems to have decided which players he is going to let go of.

The two players that seem to have no place in Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are Daley Blind and Juan Mata (surprise!), according to Sky Sports as of 7:32am BST.

Juan Mata did spend a considerable amount of his career at Chelsea, and his move to Manchester United was in fact sanctioned by Mourinho himself, his pace and work rate were the factors that didn’t allow him to continue in the Chelsea team even after being named their player of the year about 6 months prior. Is it something personal? We don’t know, was it obvious? Pretty much

Daley Blind on the other hand does not have a bad history with the man, he was bought by Van Gaal for about 14 million pounds from Ajax and played the role of a central defender for majority of the two seasons he’s been here. A factor that would’ve lead Mourinho to believe that he isn’t fit for his team could be his history with strong, tall and fast central defenders, like of Kurt Zouma and Raphael Varane and Daley Blind simply doesn’t match the physical profile for him, besides, he isn’t an out and out central defender, he can play the role of a CDM or a Left Back just as well, and in my humble opinion, letting this one go wouldn’t be a good move.

While these are just rumors, they seem to have caught the public eye, besides, the sky sources did predict Jose’s arrival to Manchester United about a day before it was actually announced. It could go either way, what do you think? Will it happen? If it does, will it be a good move? Drop your opinions in the comments.

Meanwhile, Paddy Crerand claims that Michael Carrick has put pen to paper in a one year extension deal with the Red Devils, more on that here
