Chelsea set up another deal for Serie A player

Antonio Conte’s Euro campaign with Italy has ended but he’s got right to work at new club Chelsea. After successfully completing his first signing as Chelsea boss (Micy Batshuayi) Conte seems to be targeting a lot of young talent.

According to the Daily Star, Chelsea wish to make a move for Lazio playmaker Felipe Anderson. The 23 year old, after being quite impressive for a few years experienced a dip in form in the last, scoring 7 goals and assisting just 4.

He would make for a squad rotation player at Chelsea, initially at least, with his preferred position being taken by Eden Hazard, who, after an impressive Euro campaign does not seem to want to leave it. However, if he does experience a drought as he did last season, that would give a chance to Anderson which might allow him to find his form. At the same time however, the pressure of the Premier League could very well crush him and make the situation worse, let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

There were also rumours about The London Blues making a move for Axel Witsel, but they seem to have been put to rest as Napoli have been rumoured to have swooped in and taken matters into their own hands. Finally, there were also reports of Chelsea trying to get Radja Nainggolan’s signature but the 28 year old has confirmed that he’s staying at Roma, so that’s that.
